OUR STORY

The San Francisco Bay area is one of the most significant geographic regions in the world. Its 11 counties and 256 cities are known as centers of technology, the arts, education, medicine, and sports. Innovative leaders, renowned scientists, distinguished academics, and world class athletes are among the 7.8 million people who call this area home. And yet according to the Pew Research Center the San Francisco Bay Area is among the least religious regions of the US. Five million residents here are either unchurched or have no religious affiliation.

Led by Chairman of the Board, Pat Gelsinger (CEO, Intel) Transforming the Bay with Christ (TBC) was founded in 2013 by a coalition of business leaders, pastors, and nonprofit leaders to focus on developing a grassroots movement to transform the Bay Area through social compassion and service.

“We want every person in the Bay Area to experience a difference in their body, in their soul, and in their spirit  through the life-changing work of God. Our mission is for people to come to know Jesus Christ as part of that. "

Pat Gelsinger - Chairman of the Board, TBC

TBC is driven by the belief that true spiritual and societal transformation can only happen when people love God with all their heart, soul, and mind and their neighbor as themselves, as instructed in Matthew 22:37-40.

OUR hope

We work to equip and connect leaders to catalyze a Gospel movement in the Bay Area. By empowering those already in leadership, TBC can impact the lives of millions of individuals in the San Francisco Bay Area.

To help ignite a kingdom movement, TBC focuses on connecting, equipping, and encouraging collaboration among leaders in the church, in the marketplace, and in the nonprofit section.

TBC is an intentionally small team of individuals, but as part of a bigger collective we believe we can motivate significant growth. We envision networks that will advance regionally collaborative kingdom efforts.
