A note from our Executive Director: Gary Gaddini
As a Bay Area native, I have always been moved by the beauty, innovation, and resilience of this region. After three decades of pastoring here, I have seen the remarkable potential of the Church to bring hope and transformation. My journey with TBC began on its founding board, where I caught a compelling vision for what God can do through a unified Gospel movement in the Bay Area.
Isaiah 61:4 captures this calling: “They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations."
Though often described as one of the most unchurched urban regions in the country, I see the Bay Area as filled with opportunity and with followers of Jesus serving in every sector as spiritual pioneers and innovators. God is already rebuilding lives, families, and communities, and we believe the Church plays a central role in this renewal.
TBC exists to connect, equip, and empower leaders across the 11 counties and 256 cities of the Bay Area to spark Gospel transformation that extends beyond Sunday. Through our three Cs, Connecting, Collaborating, and Catalyzing, we help leaders reimagine what united impact can look like.
We form regional pastoral networks that dream and strategize for their cities. We help faith leaders address major issues such as educational disparity, foster care, food deprivation, and homelessness. We support church planters as they establish new communities of faith. We encourage marketplace leaders to see their workplaces as mission fields and primary spaces for discipleship.
What makes TBC unique is our startup posture. We remain agile, innovative, and deeply relational. Our work is not about building something for ourselves but about joining Jesus in His work through leaders across the Bay who shine as points of light.
Together, the Body of Christ has the privilege of participating in God’s rebuilding and renewing of our cities.
Join us and let us imagine what is possible. Let us rebuild together.
